Posey School is a separate entity and unique in its programs. We do work with many educational organizations, arts education organizations and dance organizations to keep ourselves updated on the latest information. Here are a few that you might find interesting. Ms. Posey has been evaluated by her peers and has received national recognition as a Registered Dance Educator which enables her to use the initials R.D.E. after her name. | ||||||||||||
National Registry of Dance Educators (www.NRDE.org) enables professionals to voluntarily pledge adherence to professional responsibilities, a code of ethics, and guidelines for the safe practice of teaching dance as set forth by the National Standards in Dance, The National Dance Education Organization, and other recognized dance organizations. The Registry recommends responsible professional behavior for dance educators and makes these responsibilities known to the community through the public media. The intent is that by adhering to standards of professional conduct the public will be served, the profession will be advanced, and individual integrity will be promoted. More information may be found at: National Dance Education Organization Ms. Posey is active on the Education Committee of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS) www.iadms.org. This is a good contact for information on preventing dance injuries. Dance and the Child International (DACI) is a member of Counseil International de la Danse UNESCO Paris, and keeps us in touch with worldwide dance educators who work with children, while the (WDA) World Dance Alliance membership enables us to contact our peers throughout the world. Ms. Posey is an avid dance historian, and wants you to know that The Society of Dance History Scholars site at www.sdhs.org has lots of information about dance history, and is a good base for resource information. The Congress on Research in Dance (CORD) is an interdisciplinary organization with an open, international membership. Its purposes are (1) to encourage research in all aspects of dance, including its related fields; (2) to foster the exchange of ideas, resources, and methodology through publications, international and regional conferences and workshops and (3) to promote the accessibility of research materials.
