Creative Dance I Boys and Girls ages 4 to 6 Exploring elements of dance: space, shape, rhythm and the flow of energy, the children dance about stories and ideas that stretch the imagination, develop creative expression and self-confidence. Dance at this level included simplified folk dance steps and introduces various forms of dance. This provides an excellent foundation for further dance studies. Tues. 1:00-1:50 Wed. 10:00-10:50 and 1:00-1:50 Thurs. 2:00-2:50 Sat. 1130-12:20 | Creative Dance II Boys and Girls ages 6 to 8 (First and Second Grades only) Basic modern dance skills and basic ballet vocabulary improves students coordination, strength and ability to move safely, easily and gracefully. Classes offer more structure and technique while continuing to develop creative skills through improvisation and compositional dance studies to prepare students for technique classes. This level introduces dance notation, exciting symbols that guide dancers through an in-depth exploration of concepts such as rotation, direction, elevation, balance, dynamics, extension and flexion.
